After The Fire

I spent twenty years near flames, wars, borders, and the quiet places grief goes to hide. This isn’t the story of the fire. It’s what’s left after.

WAR

Accounts from the field and its aftermath. These are narratives grounded in direct witness, the streets, the rooms, the silence after impact. Each piece prioritises human presence over spectacle, memory over rhetoric. The aim is not to shock, but to show quietly, responsibly, and with the dignity of those who endured.

POLITICS

Analysis of power, policy, and consequence. This section examines the decisions that shape conflict and the structures that sustain it. Context is drawn with clarity and restraint, avoiding slogans or simplifications. The goal is to illuminate how war is prepared long before it is fought, and how its effects continue long after.

PERSONAL

Reflections written from the interior space of witness. Not confession, not display, but the private cost of carrying stories that cannot be left behind. Here, the voice may be quieter, slower, more human. These pieces speak to what remains when the work is finished and the world goes on.

NOTES

Unfinished thoughts, questions, and the search for language around experiences that resist explanation. This is a space for thinking aloud about grief, memory, responsibility, and the ethics of witnessing. Not conclusions, but openings.

TRAINING & MENTORSHIP

Announcements for the six-month photojournalism traineeship, mentorship openings, and workshops on frontline reporting ethics and practice. This section includes application guidelines, timelines, and updates for those interested in learning through a grounded, responsible approach to documentary work.

READING THE WORLD

Reflections on books, films, political and cultural events through the lens of lived experience. Not ratings or critiques, but an attempt to understand what a work is trying to say and what it asks of us. A place for slow thinking, and for the stories made by others that continue to echo through our own.
